I’m quite progressive politically, especially with respect to social and social justice issues. That being said, I am also about being responsible fiscally. So we should cut the defense budget and fund social safety net budgets, the arts, medical coverage for all. I can see no reason why a country as prosperous as the United States cannot feed, cloth, house and care for every one of its citizens. I know. The devil’s in the details. Other countries have worked this out. Let’s learn from them.
